Coming soon. Get excited.
The card game where you bid in secret, argue out loud, and try to leave the table with the best hand and the best friends.
One deck, one table, a lot of quiet plotting and one glorious minute of shouting. Here is the whole session, step by step.
Sit 2 to 4 players around the table and deal everyone 4 cards face down. That is your starting hand and nobody else gets to see it.
Three cards flip face up in the middle. Everyone quietly slides one card from their hand, face down, next to the middle card they want. That hidden card is your bid.
A fourth middle card appears, the "amendment," and you may move your bid to react. You can see where everyone is bidding, but never what card they actually played.
A fifth card, the "vote," gives one last chance to move. Then one full minute of open table talk begins: argue, negotiate, promise, bluff. Just never flash your cards.
All bids flip at once and resolve from highest to lowest. Ties break by suit in the order spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs. You take the card you won plus any middle cards that match it, then your bid card drops to the middle for the players below you.
Everything you win joins your hand. Play eight rounds, then lay out your hands and compare. Most points wins the summit. Full scoring revealed at launch.
Nobody stays a stranger once they have bluffed you out of a card. Deal a round and the room warms up fast.
Two people, one prize, no clear winner? Settle it at the table like proper diplomats. Loser concedes gracefully.
A hands-on way to teach negotiation, coalitions and trade-offs. Ask your school to order a class set.
The bids are the negotiation and the table talk is the whole point. Trade favors, form blocs, break them, and when it is done, have everyone sign the deck. That signed deck becomes a souvenir of the people you met and the deals you cut.
Bring it to your next conference, drop it on the family table, or run it as a warm-up before the real debate. Ask your school to order a class set and turn negotiation practice into the best fifteen minutes of the session.
